light step and weak scent so zombies and other dangers have it harder to track you The last thing you want to do is stumble onto a Triffid or pack of wolves. Lastly, cannibal has a less obvious benefit: you start with a positive morale book that teaches cooking and is a very quick read, though this might not line up with your challenge.įinally, STAY AWAY from the big bugs and dangerous wildlife until you're fully prepared! In fact, avoid wandering through deep woods if at all possible.

Once you know how to live off the land, food isn't really an issue. Fast metabolism can be good for this as well, as having to eat often will keep your happiness up when you're eating good stuff. Personally, I often play with stylish (2 points) for a never ending bonus that grows to a point over time as you find fancy gear. Your happiness affects how well you learn from what you do, and isn't all that hard to keep up. First is Fast Learner, a bit expensive but it really gets your skills up faster so you can build gear rather than risking your life in the cities without protection. Two things can dramatically change training time. Last tip, consider what you can do to save time leveling up your skills. Preserve that food! Root cellars are good once you are able. Collect rocks when you can, or be ready to smash boulders/dig for them to build a charcoal smoker. Clay is your friend if you can find some, and will save you from having to raid to get better cooking tools. Foraging a jar early is ideal, but not guaranteed. you might find yourself desperately needing some food and not wanting to travel far away. Cattail stems can be processed into a weak antiseptic if you get a deep bite, otherwise you will be forced to cauterize the wound.įorage bushes, but not all of the bushes close to your base immediately. Pits and other traps help a LOT but if it's just one at a time a cudgel will get the job done. Might be a pain without clothes, but with a little luck you can pick off a zombie or two. If you get a good shelter then you can hold out for months before you need to raid a city for supplies that you can't make yourself.

I suggest starting with watching some of Rycon Roleplays naked and afraid run on YouTube.įind somewhere to setup camp, an outlying farm (fresh water and seeds with farmland) or swamp shack (fresh water AND salt water PLUS charcoal smokers) would be great. Previous comment outline a lot of good points that I'm not going to bother repeating, but as far as naked and afraid goes once you know your basic survival strategy it just comes down to the luck of securing shelter/clothing in time. (for negatives rigid table manners, lightweight, truth teller and addictive personality are easy picks). You can pick some extra traits depending on your play style. I recommend picking parkour expert (too good to not pick it, specially if you are going to raid cities), night vision, strong back (You will probably need it to move with late game armor without mutations) and probably packmule (Before you get a vehicle volume is the biggest pain when it comes to looting). Try to level up survival as you travel and to make a swag bag (You are gonna need it), a stone hammer and a stone knife are important too, a good weapon would be a cudgel (since you can use it and the swag bag at the same time). Food is not a problem (At least for a couple of weeks) once you get some bottles and cans to cook, level up cooking by boiling water and can make some pine nuts. If you are going with no skills then you need to find clothes fast or you will die from the cold in less than a week (I have done wild naked and afraid before, the main problem is you cant sleep if you are too cold), try to find a building that could have some clothes and a bed ASAP, a tent wont do if you dont have any clothes unless you have a shit ton of blankets.
